Traffic Rules
by Pathitta Pienprasop and Atchareeya Kespratoom
Most
of the students in UBU do not follow the traffic rules. Traffic rules are very
important for keeping everyone safe. Violations of traffic laws can cause
accidents on the road and might affect other drivers. Many students might think
it's not a big deal, but I argue that it leads to many negative consequences of
not follow the traffic rules. Firstly, it results to waste of your time to
study. Jenjira Sansuk, a student in the Faculty of Liberal Arts, said, “I want
all students to stop driving in violation of traffic rules. I had a car
accident because of violating traffic lights. It caused me serious injuries, so
I couldn't come to study for many months.” According to the interviewer, if you
have an accident, you might have to stay in the hospital for several months
that result in you wasting time studying many subjects. Even a small bump can
make you waste time for studies. For example, you have to deal with parties or
go to the police station for the officials to judge. Secondly, it affects your
money. According to Thai Health, Department of Medical
Sciences (2009), from accident data, the highest average cost from the accident
is 25,148 baht per person. You have to pay for expenses such as medical
expenses or hospitalization. There is also the cost of a car repairing both you
and the parties. Finally, it affects your health and results in death.
According to Organization (2016), in countries around the world, about 1.3
million people die each year from road accidents. People up to 50 million
injured. Accidents from non-compliance with traffic regulations can cause
injury to you and other road drivers. The most serious is that it can cause you
or another driver to die. You might think that waiting for the red light is a
waste of time. Actually, it is time that
you can save your life. It's better to follow the rules. In brief, compliance
with traffic regulations will make you arrive safely at your destination, and
you don't have to regret the negative consequence that I mentioned above.
